【Yara-ma-yha-who – Australian Folklore Creature】
A weird vampire-frog-like creature from Aboriginal Australian mythology.
Red skin, human face, frog body, suckers on fingers to hang on trees.
When a person walks underneath, it jumps down, sucks their blood, swallows them whole, rests a bit, then vomits them out.
Each time it does this, the person gets shorter and redder—until they turn into another Yara-ma-yha-who.a
Legends say if you play dead, you can avoid it.
My version:
It starts off small, about 30cm. It uses anticoagulant saliva on its tongue and teeth to bite and drain blood rapidly. Like a tick, it swells up as it feeds.
Then it swallows the victim—its saliva has a paralytic effect—transforming them gradually into one of its own in its stomach-like cavity.
Another fun idea I had:
Instead of turning people into identical red creatures, it “infantilizes” them into tiny red shota & loli versions of themselves.
(Don’t worry—I’m ditching the red part, lol.)
